In January, with the support of the China Wushu Academy of Beijing Sport University, he created Strengthening the Body and Assisting the Lungs Fitness Method. The original says it helps strengthen constitution and improve immunity, and is used to prevent novel coronavirus pneumonia and promote recovery after healing. This is the original’s wording. The practice was translated into English, German, and Spanish. Dispatched by the China Sport Science Society and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, he taught at national-level exercise-prescription training. More than three hundred teachers, sport and health cadres, community doctors, family doctors, general practitioners, and oncology doctors from Shenzhen, Xiamen, and Shanghai took part. Also dispatched, he taught four sessions of national-level exercise-prescription training for the Jiangsu Health Commission and Sport Bureau; four hundred doctors took part. And he made five online courses for exercise-prescription practitioners for the society.
He first opened paid livestreams on DingTalk; courses included foundational Daoyin health practices and Daoyin health formulas for benefiting the heart in summer, moistening the lungs in autumn, difficult and complex conditions, and the like.
Invited by the British Taijiquan Centre, he taught Strengthening the Body and Assisting the Lungs Fitness Method online. Invited by the PLA General Hospital, his lecture title was “Appropriate Techniques and Exercise Prescription for Cardiac Rehabilitation—Daoyin for Heart Disease.” He took part in the textbook Exercise Prescription under the China Sport Science Society, published by People’s Education Press. The International Health Qigong Federation granted him status among the first International Class A referees in Health Qigong. Engaged by the Chinese Health Qigong Association and the International Health Qigong Federation, he gave global online public courses on “Aiding the Fight Against the Epidemic.” The ninth session spoke of the cultural connotations of the Twelve Methods; the tenth of the traits of regulating form in the Twelve Methods.
In cooperation with China United Insurance Company he developed Daoyin health prescriptions for hypertension, fall prevention, COPD, and the like. In cooperation with Cuihe under Tongrentang he brought exercise prescriptions into communities. After the pandemic eased, he taught older people in nursing homes, communities, and parks.
His student Han Xiaoming received a doctorate and entered a postdoctoral station at Tsinghua University. Together with Liu Ruiqi, former chairman of Hengyuanxiang and first honorary vice president of the International Wushu Federation, he jointly supervised postdoctoral fellow Wang Nan, whose topic opened on “Taiji and Lifestyle.” Five more doctoral and master’s students graduated and stayed in Beijing. The original counts that by then “Feiye Sport and Cultivating Life” had graduated seventy-five master’s and doctoral students and twenty-three senior visiting scholars from within China.
