About
Professor Hu Xiaofei is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He formerly headed the health-cultivation teaching office and the Daoyin centre at Beijing Sport University, and is a recognised teaching master among Beijing universities. He is a member of the International Health Qigong Federation and deputy head of its technical committee; a standing committee member of the Chinese Health Qigong Association and deputy head of its research committee; and was among the first examiners for Health Qigong overseas grading.
He was the first health-cultivation professor to lecture at United Nations headquarters, and received Cuba's Mártires de Barbados sporting honour. He studied with Professor Zhang Guangde and has taught, researched and shared traditional health cultivation for nearly thirty years, with particular work in daoyin, yangsheng taiji, and the design of exercise programmes. He has taught tens of thousands of students from more than fifty countries; he has served many times as chief judge at international and national daoyin and Health Qigong competitions; and he has lectured, reported and performed on nearly a hundred visits to almost thirty countries, including the United States, Japan and Germany.
He has also taught at Chinese government and academic institutions, industry sports associations, towns, neighbourhoods and care homes. He created the Qianlong yangsheng system and has written books including Qianlong Fitness Art, Ba Duan Jin for Building Strength, Warm-up before Yangsheng Practice, and Wheelchair Fitness Art. He co-authored the nationally promoted teaching materials Health Qigong · Daoyin Yangsheng Gong 12 Methods and Health Qigong · Twelve Brocades.

The Hu Xiaofei Daoyin Kangyang Academy was founded in February 2021. Branch schools have opened in English, Russian, French, Spanish/Portuguese, and Japanese.

Competitions and grading

Professor Li Jinlong
Doctoral supervisor · School of Physical Education, Shanxi University
National social-sports instructor; national Health Qigong instructor and judge; 7th duan in Health Qigong and 6th duan in wushu. He reviews projects for the National Social Science Fund. His research is in traditional ethnic sport and the social study of sport.
He formerly served as vice-dean of the School of Physical Education at Shanxi University, and now leads its traditional ethnic sport discipline. He was named an outstanding individual in mass-sport research in 2003, a distinguished university teacher in Shanxi in 2006, and received a teaching-abroad award in 2011. Since 2009 he has been sent to Hong Kong, Macao, Cuba, the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, Serbia, Slovenia, Argentina, Peru, the United States and elsewhere to share Health Qigong.

Han Xiaoming

Postdoctoral fellow at Tsinghua University; PhD from Beijing Sport University. Second place in taiji sword at an international Daoyin Yangsheng Gong competition; gold award in Health Qigong · Ba Duan Jin at an international Health Qigong invitational.
He has taught health cultivation at Chinese government and academic institutions, at Alibaba, and at universities including Juntendo in Japan, the Confucius Institute in Iceland, and Purdue in the United States.

Zhang Jinru
Doctor of health cultivation
First prize, individual, at the first national Daoyin Yangsheng Gong 12 Methods competition. In Jiangsu Health Qigong competitions: first prize individual Yi Jin Jing, and first prize team Wu Qin Xi and Yi Jin Jing.
In Jiangsu university competitions: first prize individual Ba Duan Jin, second prize team Wu Qin Xi, first prize team Ba Duan Jin. Has taught health-cultivation classes for international students from Ritsumeikan University, University of Miyazaki, Kwansei Gakuin University, and Kanto International Senior High School in Japan.

Dr Peng Xiangji
Lecturer, School of Chinese Martial Arts, Beijing Sport University
PhD and lecturer at Beijing Sport University; national Health Qigong judge; 7th duan in Health Qigong and 5th duan in wushu. Individual first place in Wu Qin Xi at the 2011 national university Health Qigong competition. He has taught in more than ten countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
He has led or joined nearly ten research projects. In 2024 he taught coaches on a national taiji station programme, covering the theory and teaching of Taiji Ba Fa Wu Bu.
