On 16 March 2022 a donation ceremony for the “Children’s Ba Duan Jin Special Fund” was held online. The fund was initiated by Hu Xiaofei and Uli, president of the German Daoyin Yangsheng Gong Association. Hu Shaohui hosted; Hu Ting interpreted. Song Tonglin, principal of Qingshan No. 2 Primary School in Pu’an County, Guizhou, received the donation. Uli organized German trainees; Hu Xiaofei taught; together they raised seven hundred euros, all given to Qingshan No. 2 Primary School for carrying out Children’s Ba Duan Jin. Director Jiang of the Youth Sport Department of the General Administration of Sport of China expressed praise for this activity.
The origin was a sport-and-education integration teaching support organized by the Youth Sport Department. Children’s Ba Duan Jin as the main project, teachers and students were willing to learn. CCTV, China Education Television, China Sports Daily, and others reported on it.
At the ceremony Song Tonglin said: the school had already listed Children’s Ba Duan Jin as a required item in the daily long break between classes. Over several months the students’ constitution, posture, and spirit had changed; enthusiasm for learning Chinese culture was higher, and they were more polite. He said this was the first time wushu had entered this mountain primary school; only with this support could the students go out. Students had already registered for the Children’s Ba Duan Jin international competition organized by Beijing Sport University.
Uli said they would continue this work, to help mountain children, and also to repay Hu Xiaofei’s thirty years of teaching and the help Chinese fitness arts had brought to Germans.
Hu Xiaofei expressed gladness that the school was carrying out this practice, and said he would continue to cooperate at home and abroad, raise more funds, and establish the method of donation.
